‘Threatened’ plane evacuated
AN Air France flight bound for Paris was evacuated and searched on Saturday before leaving Amsterdam after “threats” were made against it on Twitter.
Air France said that “flight AF 1741 on November 14 from Amsterdam to Paris ... was the target of an anonymous threat on Twitter.”
Passengers were being helped by staff in Amsterdam, “while the authorities carry out a complete check of the plane,” it said in a statement.
After the luggage was rescreened and the plane searched, the airline began to reboard the flight a few hours later, a spokesman said.
“We always take threats very seriously and decided to evacuate the passengers,” Dutch police spokesman Dennis Muller said earlier.
The airline was alerted to the threat by its security officials, who contacted both Schipol and the flight crew.
