US Questions Widows
THREE of Osama bin Laden's widows have been questioned by the United States government, the Defense Department said. They survived the raid that killed bin Laden and were taken into custody in Pakistan.
The White House has said that the women could provide information about bin Laden's life in his compound.
But the Islamic practice of segregating women from men means the wives probably would not have been present for meetings or discussions about al-Qaida operation. But with bin Laden's trusted couriers dead, the women could offer rare details about the terrorist.
