Ukraine train, bus collision kills about 40
A collision between a bus and a goods locomotive killed 40 people and injured several others today in eastern Ukraine, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said.
Police said the collision took place at a railway crossing in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region in the east of the country at around 9 am.
"A tragic event occurred this morning ... According to preliminary data, about 40 people have been killed," Azarov said at the start of a cabinet meeting.
Members of the cabinet observed a moment of silence.
