Weather, track problem disrupt Eurostar travel
EUROSTAR says cold weather and a track problem have briefly disrupted travel along the only rail link between Britain and the European continent.
Eurostar spokesman Richard Holligan says three trains were held on the English side of the Channel Tunnel after a point failure on the track early today.
But he later said Network Rail had fixed the problem and that "the trains are back on the move or will be extremely shortly."
Speed restrictions imposed during cold weather were already causing delays of about 30 minutes.
The disruptions come a day before a report is due to be published on mechanical failures aboard Eurostar trains which stranded hundreds of people for hours deep in the tunnel before the Christmas holidays.
