The Fair Work Commission has cut Sunday and public holiday penalty rates for some workers.

It is a complicated decision — 550 pages long — and how it affects your pay depends on the industry you work in and the type of job you have.

Today's decision only affects people who work in the retail, hospitality or fast food industries.

The Fair Work Commission made a point of saying it will not affect people who work in other industries.

The changes to public holiday pay will come into effect on July 1.

The Fair Work Commission has not yet decided when the Sunday pay cuts will begin, but says it should be in the next year.
