More than 200 passengers travelling on an evening ferry from Sydney's Circular Quay to Manly are back on land, after being stranded on the vessel for more than two hours due to a mechanical fault.
Kate McPherson was trapped on the ferry and said as it approached the wharf, an alarm went off before they started to veer offcourse.
"[I was] confused I guess, not knowing what was happening, but once the captain spoke he just sort of put everybody at ease," she said.
"He's done a really good job about keeping everybody informed about what's happening.
In a statement, Harbour City Ferries said the 18:00 service experienced "mechanical issues on approach to Manly with the vessel, the Queenscliff, dropping anchor near Manly Wharf".
"Repairs were successfully carried out on the vessel," it said.
"The vessel is safely alongside Manly Wharf and customers have disembarked."
