Tasmania Police have called for public assistance to identify the driver of a car recorded doing burnouts on the Tasman Bridge on Monday night.
A video made public on social media showed the silver-coloured sedan emitting large plumes of smoke from the tyres, at the apex of the bridge.
The video drew approving comments when it was posted on social media.
Tasmania Police released a statement condemning the hooning as a "senseless and dangerous act".
The Road Safety Council and the RACT said the incident was a matter for police and declined to comment further.
Last year another car was also filmed doing burnouts on the Tasman Bridge.
Police have asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers.
