The State Government has announced a $300,000 grant program to boost customer service training in Tasmania's tourism and hospitality industries.
State Growth Minister Matthew Groom said the funding was designed to deal with an increased demand on the sectors.
"We've been working with the hospitality association to develop this particular program, and it's going to be customised to ensure that it works in individual workplaces," Mr Groom said.
"That can facilitate training opportunities to up to 181 either works or venue operators,
"This is designed for people who are working in the sector to make sure that they've got they've got the skills ... the customer experience, the interface with the customer, cultural awareness," he said.
The training program will be conducted in partnership with the Tasmanian Hospitality Association.
Association spokesman Steve Old said he was hopeful it would attract more workers.
"One of the things our industry suffered with for a long time is that people don't see hospitality," said Mr Old.
"Well, we're crying out to those teachers, schools and hospitality, there's jobs in hospitality so please come to our industry and work," he said.
The program will run until mid-2017.
