Twitter staff tweet their own horn in bid to boost morale

Friday, 29 Jan 2016 10:46:54

In what appears to be an attempt to rally the remaining troops, Twitter employees are tweeting their own praise during a biweekly internal meeting in San Francisco.

Tweets using the hashtag #oneteam were sent out from Twitter employees explaining why they enjoy working at the social media company.

The apparent attempt to boost morale comes after four top executives quit the social media company after the recent appointment of Jack Dorsey.

The company has had a tough couple of weeks with a falling share price and growing investor concerns about sluggish growth in the Twitter user base.

Twitter - which has just over 300 million users - posted its slowest user growth in 2015.

A Twitter spokesperson told the ABC that the hashtag response was "just people sharing why they love this company and this service."

"We're hiring!" he added.

Some people questioned the trend.

While others, mostly Twitter employees, embraced the idea.
