CNPC deputy general manager investigated by Party
WANG Yongchun, a deputy general manager of China National Petroleum Corp, is being investigated for suspected “severe discipline violations” by the Communist Party’s graft-fighting watchdog, Xinhua news agency reported today.
Wang is also the general manager of CNPC’s Daqing Oilfield Co, which operates the country’s second-largest oilfield, Xinhua said in a one-sentence report, citing the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
A senior engineer, Wang has more than 30 years of experience in the petroleum industry, according to his biography posted on CNPC’s website.
He became the latest senior official in China’s state-owned corporate sector to be investigated. Earlier this month, Xu Long was removed from his post as chief of China Mobile Communications Corp’s Guangdong branch after being taken away by disciplinary officials for alleged discipline violations.
