Career development most concerned among employees

EMPLOYEES were found most concerned about career development, rewards, and recognition, when deciding to stay with a company, human resource firm Aon Hewitt said in a survey yesterday.

The survey covered 108 companies and more than 400,000 employees across 192 cities in China.
It found 62 percent respondents said they are happy with financial and non-financial rewards given by their company, while 82 percent employees of the top 12 companies said they gave positive feedbacks.

The gap between top companies and market average was 18 percentage points in terms of offering proper career development and training, and it was 16 percentage points for recognition of employees' personal value.

Such differences help the top companies 17 points better at retention of employees than the market average, Aon Hewitt found.

The 12 companies Aon Hewitt awarded as Best Employers include 9 foreign-investment ones and 3 domestic companies.

Meanwhile, LinkedIn data showed that employees in China averagely stay with an employer for 25 months by the end of last year, 1 month shorter than the result by the end of 2014.
