Center to help US SMEs in pipeline

THE American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai will set up an SME Center in November to facilitate the growth of US small and medium-sized enterprises in China, AmCham Shanghai said yesterday.

The center will provide targeted services for SMEs which are interested in exporting to expand their operations in China.

American SMEs account for 99.7 percent of all US companies and employ more than half of the 600 million private sector workforce. Yet only 1 percent of the nation's 28 million small businesses export. Ten percent of American SMEs export to China, which is America's fastest growing export market, the AmCham Shanghai said.
