China's March manufacturing activity bounces back

CHINA'S manufacturing activity rebounded in March thanks to strengthened easing efforts, a survey showed today.

The official Purchasing Managers' Index, a comprehensive gauge of operating conditions in large industrial companies, landed at 50.1 in March, up from 49.9 in February, according to the National Bureau of Statistics and the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing.

A reading above 50 means expansion. The March figure was the highest since December.
