China鈥檚 leap into advanced and automated industry
CHINA could leap into advanced and automated industrial manufacturing quicker than western countries driven by government support, consumption upgrade, and corporate flexibility, officials of Germany-based Freudenberg Group said yesterday.
Peter Rohde-Chen, head of business development for Freudenberg IT Asia, outlined nine possible reasons that could accelerate China’s ambition to modernize the industrial sector.
He said rising labor cost and business demand for short production and delivery terms will press Chinese companies to increase use of automated production, and the Chinese speed of innovation and the higher number of new factories than US and Europe will help shorten the time China need to complete the same journey as western countries.
However, challenges include developing talent that understand the whole production process, upgrading technical standards, and making changes within an organization.
The government this year put forward “Made in China 2025” and “Industry 4.0” initiatives to eliminate high-energy consumption production capacities and upgrade manufacturing to higher-value added products.
