City opens joint platform for labor exporters
THE Shanghai Overseas Labor Services Platform was officially launched this morning. The platform, a key government project this year, is designed to regulate labor exporters and combine their services.
People applying to work overseas now must register on the platform, www.shlaowu.net, before they are sent abroad by a qualified company.
The services offered on the platform include job description, policy consulting and vocational training. They are all free of charge.
Shanghai has sent more than 16,630 people to work overseas since 2010 in response to the government's go-out strategy.
