‘Cloud’ shop at event

COMPANIES taking part in the China Time-Honored Brand & Famous Brand Expo aim to tap new demand and new consumer habits, especially those of the younger generation.

Visitors to the event can buy some time-honored products displayed in a “cloud” shop via a high-technology touch screen without the need for any shop assistants. Visitors pay by using their WeChat or credit cards, organizers said. The screen will also relate stories behind these time-honored brands.

The fair, part of the ongoing Shanghai Shopping Festival, will start today at the Shanghai Exhibition Center.
