DuPont opens second R&D phase in city focusing on new materials

DUPONT has announced the opening of the second phase of its China research and development center to focus on new material applications in solar energy, bio-based materials and automotive materials.

"We are applying our vast range of scientific expertise and knowledge to address some of the world's most complex challenges in the areas of food, energy and protection," chairman and chief executive Ellen Kullman said today in Shanghai.

With the expansion, DuPont adds 17,500 square meters and will house an additional 150 researchers at its China R&D center.
