FDI increases 10.3% in December

China's foreign direct investment increased 10.3 percent from a year earlier in December, a strong pace although it moderated from a 22.2 percent rise in November, the Ministry of Commerce said.

In 2014, foreign investors channeled 736.4 billion yuan (US$119.5 billion) into the country, up 1.7 percent year on year and compared with 5.25 percent growth in 2013.

Foreign investment in the service sector rose 7.8 percent to 406 billion yuan last year, representing 55.4 percent of the total. However, investment in manufacturing fell 12.3 percent to 245.2 billion yuan, or 33.4 percent of total FDI, the ministry said. The decline was a reflection of industrial restructuring efforts, according to the ministry.
