For hearing aids, a pair is better than one
SWISS-BASED Sonova Group, a major provider of hearing care products, said it will step up efforts on marketing its tailor-made binaural hearing aids in the Chinese market.
“It is the best time to recommend binaural hearing-aid products to people here,” said Yang Jiaqing, general manager of Sonova (Shanghai) Co Ltd. “Our clients have being seeking after hearing aids with better effects, and binaural products are what they should look for.”
In developed markets such as Australia, the United States and the European Union, as high as 80 percent, 74 percent and 65 percent of people with hearing problems, respectively, chose binaural products. While in China, only around 15 percent did so.
“Binaural hearing aids can greatly enhance the performance of the products,” said Dai Ruibang, a hearing professional at Sonova.
Sonova has initiated a campaign to expand users’ awareness of binaural hearing aids and set up tailor-made services for consumers.
