HK firms win brand awards in Shanghai
HONG Kong businesses should engage more with the Chinese mainland, especially with Shanghai, to build brands and take advantage of the country's continued reform and opening-up, officials said at an event organized by the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce on Saturday.
At the event, several celebrated HK businesses were honored for being owners of the most successful Hong Kong brands in Shanghai in 2012. They included jewelry retailer Chow Tai Fook, design cloth seller I.T Group, and supermarket chain store City Super.
Liang Meifang, deputy director of the Shanghai Commerce Development Research Center, said Hong Kong companies helped to enrich goods and commercial culture on the mainland and she expected them to continue their commitment in Shanghai.
