Here come CSR winners

EATON China, Coca-Cola China, United Technologies Corp and TE Connectivity were among the winners of the 2015 Annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Awards granted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai today.

Eaton obtained the top Leadership Award for its overall CSR achievements, especially its efforts in answering the world's growing need for power without consuming more of the resources.

The innovation Award went to Coca-Cola, which embraced a mindset of cooperation and worked closely with partners to protect water resources.

The United Technologies was one of the two winners of Partnership Award for its participation in a program of building libraries in China's rural areas.

TE Connectivity got the Employee Engagement Award, as the company empowers the staff to make a difference in its CSR program.

Kenneth Jarrett, president of AmCham Shanghai, said the standard of corporate social responsibility in China has been rising.

"Research shows that social responsibility and environmental awareness are both significant contributors to a company's performance," Jarrett said. "We hope the awards will inspire more companies to find innovative ways to carry CSR activities."
