Huawei eyes enterprise sector
Huawei Technologies released two artificial intelligence-featured sever chips yesterday to integrate with data centers and cloud services, underlining the company鈥檚 strategy to take its smartphone success into the enterprise market.
Huawei鈥檚 Ascend series chips are seen as rivals to Nvidia and Google鈥檚 TPU (Tensor Processing Unit), the world鈥檚 most powerful chips. But Eric Xu, Huawei鈥檚 rotating chairman, said in Shanghai that China鈥檚 largest telecommunications gear and mobile phone maker would not sell independent AI chips but bundle them with enterprise services like the cloud.
Huawei has implemented a 鈥渇ull stack鈥 AI strategy covering various hardware and services, including new chips, said Xu. Huawei will invest in a range of AI areas, including calculation capacity, security, algorithms, automation, technology synchronization, platforms and talent, to establish a 鈥渕ore connected world.鈥
