BNP Paribas Investment Partners, the asset management arm of BNP Paribas, last week opened an investment advisory company in Shanghai’s pilot free trade zone. Operating under the Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise structure, BNP Paribas Investment Advisory (Shanghai) Co Ltd aims to provide services to institutional investors. The French bank is banking on the new entity to seize opportunities offered by the progressive liberalization of the yuan and China’s economic and financial integration with the global financial system at both country and corporate levels.
