Japan to send its largest business delegation to China
JAPAN said it will send its biggest business delegation to China this November to deepen economic ties between the two countries, according to Japan Business Federation yesterday.
It will be the first time for the three economic bodies — Japan Business Federation, the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Japan-China Economic Association — to send a joint delegation to China.
Japan Business Federation, also known as Keidanren, consists of members of large leading enterprises, while the chamber of commerce represents medium and small-sized companies.
Sadayuki Sakakibara, chairman of Japan’s biggest business lobby Keidanren, said sending a joint delegation rather than dispatching officials separately will create bigger possibilities to build relationships with Chinese companies of all kinds.
The high-level economic dialogue between China and Japan has been held annually since 1975, mainly including members from Keidanren and Japan-China Economic Association.
Japan's investment to China has declined 7.8 percent year on year to US$1.4 billion by the end of April, due to climbing labor cost and rent fee in bigger cities, China's Ministry of Commerce said in May.
"I hope we will be able to send the message that the Japanese business community seeks to deepen exchanges as a whole," Sakakibara said on Tuesday.
