More Chinese companies win Stevie Awards
MORE Chinese companies have won the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards this year as they stepped up international branding.
A total of 24 Chinese entities, including Xiaomi, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China, and Netease, have won the awards in Shanghai on June 5, award organizer said in a statement.
That compared to 16 that won the awards last May in Seoul.
“Like all companies, Chinese companies have been pursuing continuous improvement in processes and performance,” Michael Gallagher, president of Stevie Awards, told Shanghai Daily in an email interview today. “Many companies succeed, others don't. In general, though, what almost all Chinese companies must do better is to build their brands, so that they are well-known locally, regionally, and even internationally.”
He said Shanghai was selected to host the second Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards this year as the city has a long history as an important trading center in the region.
The Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards, as part of the global Stevie Awards programs, are the first to recognize achievement in business in all 22 nations of the Asia-Pacific region.
