JAPAN-BASED Omron Corp opened a new 600 million yuan (US$97 million) factory yesterday in Shanghai to produce auto and telecommunications electronic components.
Through the Shanghai Omron Control Components Co, the Japanese firm aims to boost revenue from China, its No. 2 regional market. Expected to create 450 jobs, the 80,000-square-meter Shanghai factory may generate an annual output of 250 million units by 2015.
