Orders at fair fall 9.9%
ORDERS clinched at the East China Fair, the earliest and biggest regional trade fair which ended yesterday in Shanghai, fell 9.87 percent annually to US$2.81 billion, a bad sign for this year's trade.
The fair organizers said the decline was led by a 15.6-percent drop involving transactions of textile products while sales of products with crafts increased 1.4 percent.
The number of overseas visitors to the fair also dropped by 5.2 percent to 20,016, according to the organizers.
