Ping An Pay signs deal to offer services in Taiwan
PING An Insurance's payment platform has teamed up with Bank of Taiwan to offer cross-Strait e-commerce payment services, the company said in a statement today.
Ping An Pay has signed agreements with the lender and Taiwan payment company Neweb Technologies Co to offer direct payment services to more than 10,000 Taiwan-based e-commerce shops, the statement said.
The deal has been registered with regulators on both the mainland and Taiwan. It will begin operating once all technical issues are resolved.
Ping An will become the third mainland-based payment company offering services in Taiwan after Alibaba?s Alipay and Tencent's Tenpay.
