Pudong auto show fills the void

PUDONG New Area will hold its own car show next week to meet the surging demand of local consumers who are not satisfied with Auto Shanghai that is held every two years.
The new show, from August 16 to 20, will be a supplement to the flagship Auto China held alternatively in Shanghai and Beijing under different names.
Though visitors will not find new car models in the exhibition, they may find discounts and other incentives in car sales. The organizer expects to see 150,000 to 200,000 visitors at the auto show.
Covering 60,000 square meters of space at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, the show will display products from nearly 70 carmakers and parts suppliers from around the world. Admission costs 50 yuan (US$7.8).
