Pudong holds Economic Stars competition

TO attract skilled professionals and stimulate innovation, Pudong New Area today kicked off the first "Pudong Economic Stars" competition. It will select 100 candidates from people who work in Pudong and award the ten finalists. Expatriates can also participate.
Pudong, which is home to 110,000 companies, leads the city in economic growth. In the first half of this year when Shanghai took a hit from the global economic downturn, Pudong's GDP expanded 8.8 percent from a year earlier, compared with the city's average of 7.2 percent.
The final result of the competition will be announced in February next year.
