Saudi petrochemical giant SABIC yesterday launched its US$100 million Shanghai technology center to boost local research and development capability. The facility, located in the Pudong New Area, will also serve as SABIC’s new China headquarters. The center will focus on developing material applications for consumer electronic products, construction, clean energy and medical equipment as well as transport. The Pudong facility is one of SABIC’s 17 R&D centers worldwide.
