Shanghai remains the biggest job market in China
SHANGHAI remained the biggest job market in China in the first week after the Chinese New Year as services industries in first tier cities continued to boom, recruitment portal 51job.com said in a report today.
Job advertisement jumped 21 percent in Shanghai to more than 690,000 in the week between February 15 to 21, a traditional peak of recruiting junior level workers, the website said.
Beijing, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou took the second to fourth places.
Employment demand from services industries amount to more than 80 percent in the largest cities, and sales, sales management, e-commerce, and computer software positions were in greatest demand.
“Between 2005 and 2010, a shortage of workers usually occurred in the manufacturing industries, but now it is growing more prominent in the services ones,” the report said. “Skilled and experienced manufacturing talent is still in hot pursuit, but the number has been declining.”
Monthly salary of junior positions in first tier cities generally range between 4,000 yuan (US$615) to 6,000 yuan, 51job said.
