Top Shanghai financiers win applaud

A group of 30 top financial professionals were awarded today in Shanghai for their contribution to Shanghai's rise as an international financial center as the city plays up the talents card.
The winners were appraised and elected by local financial regulators, financial associations and news media like Xinhua News Agency.
The awards in three categories include "Shanghai Top 10 Financiers", "Shanghai Top 10 Financial Industry Leaders", and "Shanghai Top 10 Financial Innovation Figures".
To show a support for the recognition of these market leaders, Shanghai Vice Mayor Tu Guangshao also presented the award ceremony to those senior financial professionals.
The State Council, or China's cabinet, has already made it a national strategy to build Shanghai into a world leading financial center by 2020. While already a magnet to big-name financial institutions like Citigroup, HSBC and Royal Bank of Scotland, the city is drumming up the fight for top financial professionals, the so-called soft power, that build up a leading financial hub.
