UK firms eye elderly care opportunities
UK health care service providers and elderly care companies are seeking business opportunities in China to tap the rising demand for caretakers and elderly care homes, officials said yesterday.
“We’re seeking to match UK expertise and experience with the growing business opportunity in the elderly care industry in China,” said Seif Usher, assistant director of life sciences, health and social care at the British Consulate-General Shanghai.
He said that by joining hands, the two countries can better meet “the elderly care challenges and bring long-term benefit to the whole industry,” he said at an interview in Shanghai.
Annie Barr, CEO and clinical director of Annie Barr International, a UK health care training course and consultancy services provider, said the company has already launched two training centers in Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces.
Tunstall Healthcare, a technology health care management service firm, is also opening a showroom in Shanghai in the next few months to display its health monitoring facilities.
