US capital to open trade office in Shanghai
THE mayor of the District of Columbia of the United States, Vincent C. Gray, announced yesterday to establish the DC Center China, the American Capital's first foreign trade office, in Shanghai.
He made the announcement while visiting Shanghai and said the center will cultivate business and trade relationship with China and serve as a two-way platform to aid both Chinese and District businesses to enter each other's market.
The move followed the launch of the Minnesota Trade Office and the Minneapolis Saint Paul Regional Economic Development Partnership in Shanghai early this month, and reflected the growing interest of American businesses to do trade with China.
