Auto sales jump

SHANGHAI General Motors Co reported April vehicle sales jumped 62 percent to 89,562 units as new products played a major role in boosting demand.

Half of the sales were contributed by Buick-branded vehicles, which gained 29 percent to 49,247 units for April, with high demand for Buick XT Yinglang, the new Buick Regal and Buick LaCrosse.

Chevrolet and Cadillac cars saw sales doubled from a year earlier to 38,872 units and 1,440 units respectively.
