Bidders number up while average price grows to 73,875 yuan in car license sale

The success rate in getting a car plate has improved from 6.1% last month to 6.8 percent this month as the monthly car plate auction was completed this afternoon in Shanghai.
Meanwhile, the average price of car plate remained about the same as last month, slightly increasing from 73,785 yuan to 73,875.
The number of bidders hit 122,219 this time, with 669 more participating in the fierce competition than in last month.
Authority said they had raised the number of available car plates for the auction this month as demand for car purchases usually grows before major holiday periods. The National Day holiday would start early next month.
