Car plate success rises

THE success rate in Shanghai’s monthly car plate bidding rose for a fourth consecutive month to 7.74 percent yesterday. The number of people taking part in the auction dropped by 9,737 from last month to 95,595. With the car plate quota for individual buyers set at 7,400, the same as in October, the lowest winning bid fell by 500 yuan (US$82) to 73,500 yuan while the average price dropped 442 yuan to 73,633 yuan.
