Car rescue is novel idea

CHANGAN Ford, the Chinese joint venture of the American automaker, will be the first in China to provide free emergency car rescue.

The service will start with Ford's New Kuga and New EcoSport sport-utility vehicles which were launched at the Guangzhou auto show yesterday. It will be offered via Ford's infotainment system SYNC, which is also available in Ford's New Focus compact car.

Jason Liu, deputy general manager of the sales branch of Changan Ford Mazda Automobile Co, said there are also plans to make SYNC an open platform for car owners to upload information as they do with smartphones.
