Car sales in March rebound 15%
CHINA'S monthly passenger car sales in March rebounded by double digits after a slow February due to the Spring Festival holiday, the China Passenger Car Association said yesterday.
Deliveries of sedans, sport-utility vehicles and multi-purpose vehicles surged 15 percent from a year earlier to 1.46 million units last month, a huge jump from a 4.7-percent sales drop in February when most showrooms nationwide were shut for the week-long Lunar New Year holiday.
Rao Da, the association's secretary-general, said many carmakers boosted their production capacity during the holiday to prepare to launch new models in March and April to drive sales.
