City car plate prices rise despite number added

SHANGHAI’S car plate auction wrapped up its final bidding section for individual buyers this year with a success rate of 7.7 percent, the same as last month.

The car plate supply was set at 7,447, with second-hand car plate included for the first time, while the number of participants rose slightly, by 1,377 from last month, to 96,972 yuan.

The average winning bid was 73,687 yuan, up 54 yuan from November. The lowest price stood at 73,600 yuan, up 100 yuan from last month, and 1,000 yuan above the price ceiling for the first-round bids.
