Fiesta time for Ford as sales rise
FORD said sales of its new Fiesta compact car rose 20 percent in November from a month earlier to top 6,000 units.
The new Fiesta hit the Chinese market in March and its overall sales have totaled 42,260 units by the end of November.
United States-based Ford said the new Fiesta's interior design, improved suspension and steering are tailor-made for the unique demands of Chinese consumers. It said the new Fiesta integrated its global engineering resources.
It is estimated that the new Fiesta may achieve an average sales of 10,000 units monthly in 2010.
The Fiesta meets the growing demand for fuel efficient small cars in the Chinese market.
