Flaws force GM to recall faulty autos
CHINA'S top quality watchdog said GM (China) Investment Corp and Shanghai GM started to recall some imported cars from yesterday.
GM (China) Investment is recalling 1,586 imported Opel Antara cars and Shanghai GM is recalling 16,618 imported Chevrolet Captiva cars, said a statement on the website of the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, yesterday.
The models were made between April 11, 2006, and November 9, 2009.
The two companies reported flaws in the anti-lock braking system. The flaws resulted from impure brake fluid and may cause safety risks drivers need a longer braking distance.
They will offer free checks and repairs for the recalled vehicles.
