GM bullish on sales
GENERAL Motors should deliver "about the same" number of passenger cars in China next year and may see its sales of commercial vehicles to "pick up a little bit" in the country.
But Bob Socia, president of General Motors China, acknowledged yesterday that GM is facing "some formidable competition" in China, which is now its biggest market by volume.
He said GM wants to continue to outpace the average growth of the auto industry and increase its market share in the country.
Socia, who replaced Kevin Wale as the head of General Motors China this month, said one of his top priorities is to grow the company's luxury brand Cadillac as China's premium car segment is growing rapidly.
