Geely plans 25% sales boost with new models
CHINA'S Geely Automobile Holdings Group said it aims to boost vehicle sales by 25 percent this year.
The private car maker said it expects China's auto industry will continue to suffer from the economic crunch this year but that new models and government incentives could help revive the slumping sector.
Hangzhou-based Geely plans to sell 281,000 units this year compared to nearly 225,000 units in 2007, Zhang Xiaodong, a company spokesperson, told Shanghai Daily via telephone.
Geely will introduce eight models, including its first mid-to-high class sedan, to its product line-up this year. Two new models will roll off assembly lines each quarter, it said.
