Mitsubishi SUVs to be recalled
GAC Changfeng Motor will recall 9,644 Mitsubishi-branded sport-utility vehicles in China next month due to an airbag quality problem, China’s top quality watchdog, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, said in a statement yesterday.
The cars to be recalled are Pajero V73 models manufactured between November 25, 2010, and December 28, 2011.
Their front airbags when deployed may send broken parts flying and pose a safety threat to passengers. The recall, to begin on November 9, will replace the faulty inflators for free. GAC Mitsubishi will carry out the recall on behalf of GAC Changfeng Motor.
