New sales record
GENERAL Motors and its joint ventures in China set a new record for April, with sales of 213,115 units, an increase of 41.1 percent from April 2009.
The rise marked the 16th consecutive month of record sales for GM in China.
Among GM joint ventures, Shanghai GM's sales climbed 62.1 percent annually to 89,562 units and SAIC-GM-Wuling's sales increased 18.9 percent to 113,633 units.
Its FAW-GM commercial vehicle venture sold 9,795 vehicles during the same period.
