New tire plant
MICHELIN launched its biggest investment project in China, a US$1.5 billion tire plant, as the company banks that the world's largest auto market will continue to grow rapidly. The plant, based in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, is capable of making 12 million tires for cars and trucks annually. The new plant replaces Michelin's old facility in Shenyang, which began production in 1996.
