Nissan sales soar
NISSAN Motor Corp reported its first-half sales in China rose 51.4 percent from a year earlier.
Japan's second-largest car maker, along with its premier affiliate Infiniti, achieved combined sales of 503,077 units during the first six months, accounting for 58 percent of its full-year forecast.
The auto maker said its passenger car joint venture, Dongfeng Nissan, sold a record 330,873 Nissan-branded vehicles, up 47 percent. Sales of Infiniti cars more than tripled to 5,115 units during the same period.
In June, Nissan's sales totaled 88,302 units. The company said its sales were fueled by its flagship model Teana, a mid-to-high class sedan. In addition, sales of Bluebird Sylphy hit a record high of 12,128 in June, followed by strong demand of Qashqai and X-Trial.
Nissan's commercial vehicle venture also sold 1,734 units of NV200 minivans after it was launched on June 18.
