Review of Rubber Dumping By Japan

CHINA is to carry out a review of dumping of chloroprene rubber imported from Japan, the Ministry of Commerce said yesterday.

Chloroprene rubber is commonly known as Neoprene. It is mainly used in producing housing for electrical wiring and cables and rubber tubing.

The ministry said China's chloroprene rubber industry had filed an application for a review of dumping and dumping margin measures of Japanese rubber exporters on June 8.

China imposed temporary anti-dumping measures on imported chloroprene rubber from Japan, the United States and the European Union on December 1, 2004, and officially initiated measures on May 10, 2005, which will expire after five years.

The review is scheduled to be completed in one year.
